Nuspire Hiring, Planning New Data Center

Commerce Township-based Nuspire Networks plans to break ground soon on another network operations center and has just landed a deal to provide network security services for one of Europe's leading network providers.

The company is also hiring in several categories.

nushieldNuspire has been contracted by Axians to provide services for its German division.

“This initial collaboration and Nuspire-driven solution is the result of partnering discussions bearing fruit from its trip to Europe in June, 2008,” said Saylor Frase, Nuspire president.

The Axians division Nuspire is helping support has locations in nine German cities. Axians integrates networks, systems, telephony and voice-data communications solutions for 36 companies in 67 locations throughout Europe.

Nuspire’s European effort extends the service offerings it provides for organizations like General Motors, Fox Broadcasting, Ink Stop and a myriad of other companies with geographically dispersed locations.

“This initial engagement with the team at Axians is the beginning of what we’re hoping to accomplish as we scale Nuspire’s unique offerings worldwide,” said Dan Hoban, Nuspire global marketing manager. “And, suffice it to say that the team at Nuspire is excited to help drive global activity while helping to bring needed business diversification home to Michigan.”

Nuspire is a managed network security service provider that has moved beyond simple firewall maintenance and IDS monitoring to take responsibility for customer networks by using management and monitoring tools, IPS, in-line AV and anti-spyware, URL blocking, and content aware firewalling.

The company is also hiring in a variety of disciplines. The company seeks capable and qualified network engineers, security specialists, customer care and customer support personnel, and senior security sales specialists who can sell throughout North America and internationally.

Skills most in demand are those with CISSP certification, Cisco CCNA and above, Network + and Security + certifications.

As for the new data center, the company is exploring sites both in Michigan and elsewhere.

"Where Nuspire is different, and I realize this is said a lot, but it’s true, is the highly skilled technologists and security experts we have on staff right here in Michigan," Frase said. "We have some of the most talented network security engineers in the entire world developing our tools and executing our services. When you put our economies of scale and ability to deliver an end-to-end, unique and comprehensive solutions at extremely competitive cost points -- let’s just say that Nuspire is thriving for some very good reasons.”
