Network Engineer

Position Description/Responsibilities:

This is a fast-paced position with tremendous opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). As a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Network Engineer you will work directly with various other technical departments and customers.  We are seeking mid-level to senior level network technicians to support Nuspire customer’s networks and infrastructure.

Required Skills: 

  • Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of network connectivity issues
  • Previous Firewall Configuration (Fortinet, Watchguard, SonicWALL, Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Working with a variety of customers and vendors 
  • Must be able to communicate technical jargon to non-technical people
  • Research and design work for new opportunities
  • Develop network proposals and implement proposed solutions
  • Cross training of peers, fellow team members, and possibly entry-level network technicians
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and security practice
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting of the following topics:

·       IPV4/ IPV6 Addressing and Subnetting production experience

·       Routing – Static and Dynamic; design and troubleshooting experience

·       VPN -  IPSEC / SSL Triage and Configuration

·       NAT- Static / Dynamic / PAT

·       Access Control List

·       Switching – VTP / STP

·       802.11 a/b/g/n

·       Cloud API familiarity (Azure AWS)

·       TCP/UDP Comminucation flow

·      Experience with different authentication methods such as SSO or RADIUS

·       Common Router functions (DHCP, SNMP, Syslogs)

·      Ability to analyze traffic patterns using raw log or PCAP files

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Linux Platforms (Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc)
  • Knowledge PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, GLBA, ISO 27000
  • Utilizing network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Netflow, NMap, etc)
  • Basic understanding with management utilities (e.g.  SNMP, Syslog, etc.)
  • EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, QOS, VOIP
  • Production experience with SIEM environment
  • Production data center experience, both networking and security
  • Understanding of TLS and IBE as it relates to mail service

Education/Certifications/Training Required:

  • Associate Degree in any IT related course of study, or equal experience in production environments.

Education/Certifications/Training Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCSP
  • Security+, CEH, CEPT
